The WBC emerald belt to be presented to the winner of the mega-fight between world champions Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao was unveiled on Tuesday in Mexico City by the president of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman.
The belt is made out of a kilo of gold and 3000 emeralds by Mexican artisans. Legendary former world heavyweight champion, Larry Holmes and current WBC light heavyweight champion, Adonis Stevenson, were on hand at the ceremony.
“This fight shows that promoters and broadcasters can make big fights like Mayweather and Pacquiao. My father always wanted this fight,” said Sulaiman.
