Manuel
Pellegrini believes his side is not far behind champions Chelsea and has
insisted Sergio Aguero is not for sale.
City is
11 points adrift of Jose Mourinho's men after a disappointing season which saw
them relinquish their Premier League crown.
But the
Chilean, speaking ahead of Sunday's trip to Swansea City, believes not much
work is needed to bridge the gap.

Pellegrini believes the gulf between his side and Chelsea is not big despite trailing them by 11 points
'I don't think we are very far from
Chelsea.,' Pellegrini said. 'The games we played we did not see a better
team but they were more consistent - that's why they won the title.'
Pellegrini
also hailed Golden Boot winner-in-waiting Aguero and added that there was no
chance the Argentine, who has scored 25 top-flight goals this season and who
has been linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, would leave City
in the summer.
'I always say that Sergio is in the top five players in the world,' Pellegrini
said. 'I think he improves a lot. We are not a selling team. I think Sergio is
very happy here.'
Despite
his scoring feats, Aguero was not chosen in the PFA team of the year and
Pellegrini was at a loss to explain why.
'I don't
know the way they chose the PFA team,' he said. 'I cannot talk about that.
I think Kun must be in every best team.'
Hat-trick hero Aguero makes no mistake as he scores during City's 6-0 hammering of relegated Rangers
Pellegrini,
who will be able to choose fit-again Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure for the
trip to south Wales, believes second-placed City's achilles heel has been their
inability to see off the likes of Hull City, Burnley and QPR.
'We lost
a lot of points against not small teams but three teams that are now in a
relegation position,' he said. 'We lost nine points - there are a lot of
things we must improve.'
