The Association of Nigeria Premier
League Club Chairmen and Managers (Club Owners) has sent congratulatory
messages to two Nigerian distinguished sports personalities who were recently
elevated in their respective positions.
Hon. Silas Agara, the former special
Adviser on Sports in Nasarawa state was elected as the state Deputy
governor-elect in the just concluded general elections while on the other hand
Mallam Alhassan Yakmut, a one-time Ag. Executive secretary of the Nigeria
Premier League and a Director at the National Sports Commission was appointed
and confirmed as the substantive Director General of the NSC.
Rising from its executive meeting in
Abuja on Friday, the Club Owners Association in a statement jointly signed by the
Ag. Chairman, Barr. Isaac Danladi and the Ag. Secretary Alloy Chukwuemeka,
described the elevation of the duo as a great honour to the football sector
considering their contributions and antecedents in the development of the
domestic league.
The Club Owners particularly
recalled the great supports of Hon. Agara in the areas of sports and youths
development not only in Nasarawa state but the Nation at large. Also Mallam
Alhassan Yakmut popularly called Armoured Tank was described by the Association
as a round peg in a round hole, as he is a sportsman personified, and did
excellently well during his days as the Ag. Executive secretary of the Nigeria
Premier league.
The Association charged the two
personalities to see their elevation as a call to more service to humanity and the
society, especially the sports sector and enjoined them to bring their wealth
of experience over years to bear in the development of the system.
Club Owners prayed for their successful tenure in office and for God to grant them the wisdom and direction
to add values in their position of authority.
Meanwhile, in another development,
the Club Owners have congratulated the former President of the Nigeria football
Federation Alh. Aminu Maigari on the successful wedding ceremony of his son.
A special delegation of the Club
Owners led by Lobi Stars boss Dominic Iorfa, alongside the coordinator of the
Association Mr Jude Anyadufu of Enyimba, Alh. Suleiman Chindo of Wikki Tourist,
Alh. Mohd Haruna Maigidasama of kwara United and the Ag. Secretary Alloy
Chukwuemeka was in Bauchi on Saturday to witness the event and wished the new
couple a successful and happy married life.
