Shooting Stars new coach Gbenga Ogunbote who
replaced sacked Franklin Howard has promised to lift the Oluyole Warriors out
of the relegation zone in the on-going Nigeria Professional Football League
season.
Speaking
to newsmen, Ogunbote says he is excited about his new challenge and is hopeful
that Shooting Stars will start getting good results soon.
“I
am very excited at joining a big team like Shooting Stars and look forward to a
successful stay with the club.”
“They
are a good team but unfortunately they have not been getting good results in
the League this season.”
“I
know that I have a huge challenge to save the team from the current situation
but I am confident that we will pull through and the team will take its
rightful position on the log.”
The
former Sharks and Sunshine Stars coach says he will look at his team first
before thinking of the next move after holding his first training with the
team.
“The
important thing is for me to look at the players and the squad I have and
identify any weaknesses, then maybe I will think about getting a few players.”
“We
all need to pray for the team to get out of the current situation and I believe
we will be fine,” the brilliant coach added.
Shooting
Stars are rock bottom on the league ladder with 8 points from a possible 27.
