Just two years ago, England failed to win a single game at the European Championships in Sweden.

This summer in Canada is an opportunity to achieve redemption and also a chance to show progression under new head coach Mark Sampson, who replaced Hope Powell.

England's qualification for this World Cup was almost perfect. They finished top of Qualifying Group Six with 10 wins from 10 games, scoring 52 goals against the likes of Belarus, Turkey, Montenegro, Ukraine and Wales.

The only blot on their qualification record was the single goal they conceded from Ukraine's Olha Ovdiychuk in Lviv.
