Raheem Sterling laughs after Liverpool supporters berate him with abuse as his transfer drama continues to rumble

Raheem Sterling was heavily taunted by Liverpool fans at the Britannia Stadium as his future at Liverpool continues to look bleak - but he could only laugh.

The 20-year-old has told the club he wishes to leave in the summer and turned down a new contract at Anfield.

Sterling was left on the bench for the Steven Gerrard's final game in the Premier League but it didn't stop fans from showing their discontent.

The winger collected the club's young player of the year of award earlier in the week but it seems destined that he'll be plying his trade elsewhere next season.

Manchester City are the clear favourites to sign Sterling and will bid for him during the summer when the transfer window opens.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has stated that he expects the England international to honour the final two years on his contract before moving on.
