Usain Bolt insisted he was ready to defend his World Championships sprint titles this summer and then furiously hit out at the drugs cheats who repeatedly drag the sport through the mud.
The Jamaican, in London
for the Anniversary Games which starts on Friday night, said: 'It definitely
does upset me, because everyone starts pointing fingers and it doesn't help
the sport in any way. At times I do get frustrated.'
Bolt is running his first
serious 100m of the season in the Olympic Stadium where he won double gold in
2012.
Despite an injury-blighted
season, Bolt said suggestions twice-banned Justin Gatlin will dethrone him in
Beijing in August are unwarranted.
'I'm not planning to
lose,' he said before lashing out at drugs cheats like Gatlin.
'I am definitely angry
that the sport is under suspicion,' he added, 'especially because you work hard
and the sport is getting back a good reputation and then it backslides and
other athletes do the wrong thing.'
Bolt, 28, had sympathetic
words for Mo Farah who will run in the 3,000m on Friday, his first race in
Britain since doping allegations against his coach Alberto Salazar.
'I've come through the
ranks with Mo,' said Bolt, 'He works so hard to get where he is for someone's
mistakes to be causing him problems.
'I hope it doesn't stress
him out. It is part of the sport, people are always pointing fingers.'
