Coach Arsene Wenger is refusing to give up on his long-term dream of landing Karim Benzema this summer. Despite current first-choice striker, Olivier Giroud, finally signing a new contract, Arsenal is determined to land the Real Madrid hitman.
Reports say the Gunners have had an initial enquiry for the France international rebuffed by the Spanish giants, who are currently unwilling to sell. Arsenal will make another approach for Benzema during the latter stages of the window to see if Real's stance has altered.

The north London club is prepared to pursue their
interested in the 27-year-old well into the closing stages of the transfer
window before even considering another option such is Wenger's desire to land
the striker he tried to sign during the previous three summers. Unless he can
sign a world class striker he believes can catapult his team to title glory
next season, Wenger is likely to keep the chequebook in his pocket.
