Football Federation Secretary-General, Mohammed Sanusi, says the recent
Federation Cup match between Lobi Stars and Enugu Rangers has been won and
lost, despite a petition from Rangers asking for an investigation into the
actions of the referee during the game. Sanusi made this known in a chat with DreamSportsYarn
on Tuesday.
“As
far as the FA Cup semi-final is concerned, it has been won and lost and there
is nothing anyone can do about that”. “Yes, Rangers has written a petition
asking for an investigation into the actions of the referee during the match.
That we are looking into and anyone found culpable will be punished
accordingly”.
The NFF scribe also hinted that the 4pm time (2.30pm
in Nigeria) fixed for the match between Tanzania and Nigeria in the September
5, 2015, Nations Cup qualifier at the National
Stadium, Dar es Salaam as
confirmed by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) is in accordance with CAF
and FIFA rules for international matches.
“The time is in accordance with CAF and FIFA rules
for international matches and the NFF will abide to it”. “All we need now is to
prepare for the game as is being observed presently in Abuja where the players
are getting set for the task”.
Meanwhile, Sanusi also called on sports journalists
to be positive in their reports of football administration in the country in
order to create a good atmosphere for sponsors to invest in the game.
“The media should endeavor to write good reports that
concerns administration of football in Nigeria so as lure investors to sponsors
football because as you know, negative reports will not help in such
situation”, says Sanusi.
