Wolves held Dolphins to a goalless draw in a league match played on Thursday at
the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt.
It was a game that
sold out entertainment to fans who trooped to the Garden City but both sides
missed glorious chances.
Ali Chinwendu was
presented with the best chance of the game in the final minutes but he was foiled
by Daniel Akpeyi.
Okoyoh Michael and
Oghenekaro Etebo dazzled for Wolves while Chinwedu caused problems for the
Wolves defence.
For Dolphins,
experienced goalkeeper Rotimi Sunday manned the post while Ayobami Asekunowo
was also named in the defence. Midfielder Emeka Atuloma was deployed in a free
role.
Paul Aigbogun
responded by maintaining a strong defensive side.
Etebo, Okoyoh and
Sikir Alimi formed the attacking trident with support from Dimgba Stanley while
Ibenegbu Ikechukwu played the holding midfield role.
Fans turned up at the
Liberation Stadium to back the two teams with Dolphins fans overshadowing the
visitors.
