With new Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, set
to officially begin work on Monday August 17, President of the Nigeria Football
Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has advised the former Nigeria captain to manage the
shortcomings of his players when he finally resumes.
Speaking ahead of Oliseh’s first day at work, Pinnick reckoned that the Super Eagles coach must know how to deal with the shortcomings of his players, adding that his ability to do that will make a lot of difference.
“He (Oliseh) will have to manage the shortcomings
of the players,” he said, “Your ability to manage their shortcomings will
make a big human difference.
“You talking to somebody and the person obey,
that’s it. So, once you have your relationship and when everything is purely
defined you know what to do,” says Pinnick.
Speaking further, Pinnick expressed confidence
that Oliseh will handle such matters professionally.
“He’s a professional so
he knows what to do and he knows what he’s doing,” Pinnick submitted.
Oliseh will officially resume on Monday, when the invited home based players are expected to start arriving the team’s Abuja camp ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania.
