GOLF: Woods Denies Sacking Coach Como Amid Slump In World Rankings

Woods shot an encouraging round of 68 to open the tournament at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club

Former world No 1, Tiger Woods, has denied speculation that he has sacked his swing coach, Chris Como.

After shooting a 3-under-par 68 at the Quicken Loans National, Woods was asked to comment on the many suggestions he had sacked Como, following missed cuts at back-to-back majors for the first time in his career.

Como is not with Woods this week at the tournament that benefits the superstar's own charitable foundation. But, asked whether he was still working with his coach, Woods replied with a smile 'Yeah. Is there a problem?'

Woods's agent, Mark Steinberg, also denied Como had been sacked. 'First I have heard of it,' he told
the Golf Channel.
