The United States government has denied
reports that it is behind Sepp Blatter's decision to resign as FIFA president
on Tuesday.
Blatter had taken the decision following accusations
of financial scandal against some of the sport's leading officials.
Already, seven officials were arrested in a raid
carried out in Zurich, Switzerland, on Wednesday, accused of taking more than
$150 million in bribes.
Meanwhile, The Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI) and US prosecutors are investigating out-going FIFA president, Sepp
Blatter.
