Andy Murray and Philipp Kohlschreiber managed just five games in the BMW Open final on Sunday before rain suspended play for the day.

After finally taking to the court in Munich around 5:15pm local time following persistent rain, German Kohlschreiber was leading 3-2 on serve before the rain returned. Both players will now return on Monday morning with play due to resume at 11am CET (10am UK time).

It has been a tough week for the players with both the quarter-finals and semi-finals being held on Saturday after a washout on Friday.

World No 3 Murray is bidding to win his first clay-court tour title in what is the first time he has played an ATP 250 tournament (the fourth tier of tour events below Grand Slams, Masters and ATP 500s) on the red stuff.

Ironically, Murray could meet Kohlschreiber again in the second round of the Mutua Madrid Open on Wednesday.
The Brit has been given a first-round bye and is scheduled to meet the winner of Tuesday's first-round match between Kohlschreiber and a qualifier.
