Sunshine’s Odunlami And Aggrey Apologize For Behavior In
2-1 Win Over Dolphins
Sunshine
Stars ‘strippers’, Ebenezer Odunlami and Prince Aggrey, have both apologized
for their behavior in
a league game over the weekend, the League Management Company have announced.
The LMC says it
will no longer take further actions against the two players following their letters
of apology. The players were sanctioned earlier in the week for their behavior
during the Match Day 4 league game against Dolphins.
Aggrey and
Odunlami stripped to their undies on
Sunday in celebration when the former scored the winner in a 2-1
win over Dolphins in Akure, and were subsequently banned on Monday for one league game each
and fined N50, 000 each for indecent exposure and behavior capable of bringing
the league to disrepute.
The LMC had
also, in line with the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) framework
and regulations, allowed the two players 48 hours to either submit to the
decision or elect to be dealt with by a special LMC commission.
However, following the separate letters of
apology from the duo, the LMC has commended the players for accepting
responsibility and admonished them to be of good behavior going forward.
LMC Chief Operating
Officer, Salihu Abubakar, says “The two players have written to accept full responsibility for
their bad behavior and have accordingly apologized to the Nigeria Football
Federation (NFF), the LMC, our broadcast partners; their employers; Supporters
of Sunshine Stars and the general public”.
