Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has left English champions, Chelsea for Turkish club, Kasimpasa on loan. The 21-year old was left out of Chelsea’ pre-season tour after returning from another loan spell away from the club.

Omeruo has spent the last two seasons on loan at English Championship club, Middlesbrough but has elected not to return to the Riverside Stadium, instead preferring to play top flight football in Turkey with Kasimpasa.
His move to Turkey may not be unconnected to the announcement made by new Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, that players in lower divisions will no longer be eligible for national team selections.
The central defender is still contracted to Chelsea until June of 2018, having signed for the Blues in 2012 but is yet to feature for the Chelsea first team and spent his first season as a Chelsea player on loan at Dutch club, Ado Den Haag.
Kasimpasa finished in a disappointing 13th position last season, and Omeruo will do well to help them finish higher up the table next season. However, it remains to be seen if Oliseh will regard the Turkish top flight as one of the ‘credible leagues’ he talked about during his unveiling last Wednesday.
