Arsenal has been putting
together their final plans as they prepare for their final game of the season
against Aston Villa in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
Manager Arsene Wenger is
left with a few key decisions still to make as he watched his squad train at
their London Colney base in the rain on Friday morning.
Among those in action,
Olivier Giroud is likely to spearhead the Gunners attack, despite Theo
Walcott's superb hat-trick against West Brom last week. While Jack Wilshere is
also set to start from the bench, despite his superb goal in their final
Premier League game.

One
certain starter, Aaron Ramsey, who scored the winning goal as they beat Hull
3-2 in last season's final, is hopeful they can continue their run of
silverware.
'Hopefully we can win
the FA Cup this year,' he said. 'Then that'll be two things in two years so
hopefully we can just keep that run of winning things going.'
'Back-to-back finals are not an easy thing to achieve. In the second half of the season we have shown the form that we need throughout the season to win this league.
'We certainly showed
that we are capable of going on these big runs and not losing too many games.
'If we can just show
that consistency throughout the season then we'll be challenging for the
Premier League, and that's what we'll be looking to do next year.'

Arsenal will be playing
in a record 19th FA Cup final on Saturday, one more than Manchester United,
while victory will mean they also clinch their 12th Cup triumph, one more than
United's 11.
Meanwhile, Wenger will
be chasing a piece of history of his own. He currently has five FA Cup victory
under his belt, and a sixth will move him level with legendary Villa manager
George Ramsay, who won the Cup six times himself between 1883 and 1920.
The Gunners boss does
face another selection headache, whether to stick with first-choice goalkeeper
David Ospina, or give the jersey to Wojciech Szczesny.
The Polish stopper was
dropped in January, and Ospina has made the position his own since then, but
Szczesny has started every game in the competition since the fourth round.
And Szczesny, then first
choice, was forced to watch on from the bench last season as Lukasz Fabianski
started the FA Cup final against Hull.

Defender Per
Mertesacker, meanwhile, is prepared to face an in-form Christian Benteke on
Saturday.
The Aston Villa forward
has been in blistering form since Tim Sherwood took charge at Villa Park, and
Mertesacker is expecting him to be a handful.
He said: ‘In dangerous
situations, he (Benteke) often gives good, clever balls to his team-mates,
especially in the semi-final. It’s difficult for us, we know how difficult it
is to compete at Wembley. It’s different from being away or at home. You can’t
compare that.
‘We have a certain
mental strength in this competition to come back. We’ve been successful there.’
